The Model 703 system offers an integrated package for
interfacing the Schlumberger Model 1250 Frequency Response Analyzer (FRA) to a
Binary Coded Decimal (BCD) interface. The resulting interface performs
electrically like the older Schlumberger 1410 FRA. This allows systems which
currently use the 1410 to use the Model 1250 FRA with no system hardware changes
or programming required.
The interface allows the 1250 FRA to be programmed from a BCD
computer system interface. It allows the range, amplitude, and frequency of the
stimulus to be programmed. Results in amplitude and phase are sent to the
controlling computer.
Auto ranging and manual range conversion, RMS to peak, and other
conversion software in the 703 allows existing 1410 control programs to execute
with the 1250 FRA as if a 1410 FRA were connected.
The 703 is contained in a rugged aluminum enclosure, constructed
for strength and durability. The 703 can be mounted in a standard 19" rack
or can be ordered with optional painted panels that make the 703 into an
attractive tabletop enclosure.
The front cover is hinged and the top panel is easily removable
for maintenance or repair. Most of the components are located on easily
removable plug-in cards and are available individually for replacement or
spares.
Integral to the 703 is a unique cooling system using forced air
and a plenum to pressurize the power supply and card system. Model 703 TO 1250
