NEED
A way for low-skill level field service personnel to test the
computerized coin changer modules that are used in vending machines. The tests
needed to be easy to use and accurate.
SOLUTION
The S75 logic board automatic tester was designed to test
the computerized coin changer modules that are used in vending machines. It
allows low-skill level field service personnel to test the modules easily.
The computer-controlled tester uses a unique packaging scheme.
The in-circuit test is performed with spring-loaded probes that are attached to
the main PCB.
When the module is loaded onto the tester, the probe pins
automatically connect to key test points in the device under test.
RESULTS
The tester was so successful and so low in cost that the client
gave the units away free to qualified purchasers of their equipment.
