Step 5: Hook up the
Electrical Water Valve and Impulse Sprinkler Head with the pipe and
fittings to your water supply.
Find the main water supply
valve for your property and turn it off. Install the fitting to connect
the pipe to your kennel water supply. If the water pressure at your
location is greater than 120 psi, install a pressure reducing valve at
your kennel water supply. Determine the farthest distance down the water
line from the water supply connection that the leads attached to the
Electric Water Valve can reach from the selected location of the Control
Unit. This is the location where the Electric Water Valve should be placed
in the water line. The closer the Electric Water Valve is placed to the
Impulse Sprinkler Head(s), the quicker the response of the water spray to
barking. Ideally, the Electric Water Valve would be placed just to the
inside of the nearest Impulse Sprinkler Head. Cut the pipe at this point
and install the Electric Water Valve as per its instructions using the
appropriate fittings. Attach the rest of the pipe and install the Impulse
Sprinkler Head(s) at their locations with the appropriate fittings. You
should now turn the main water supply back on and check for leaks. There
should be no water spray since the Electric Water Valve is not
electrically activated. If there is some water spray, refer to the
directions for the Electric Water Valve for manual operation and turn it
off.
