Step 1: Determine the best place for the Impulse Sprinkler Head(s) to cover the entire kennels.

The single most important step to successful operation of your WATERJET KENNEL SILENCER is the proper location of the Impulse Sprinkler Head(s). One Impulse Sprinkler Head is provided with the system and is sufficient for most small kennels. Look at your kennels carefully. The Impulse Sprinkler Heads can theoretically shoot streams of water as far as 40 feet in a shallow arc depending on water pressure. The water spray rises as the distance increases, and will get above the level of the dog after about 20 to 25 feet. Because of this, you may want to purchase additional Impulse Sprinkler Heads to get complete coverage. (These are available at most hardware stores and cost between $2.00 to $5.00.) Choose your locations such that the sprinkler heads will spray the dogs in the face when they bark. Make sure that all areas of all kennel runs will be sprayed when the unit is triggered. This includes the tops of dog houses and around corners. If a safe dry spot is available in the kennel runs, your dogs will find it and bark from there. It is best to locate the Impulse Sprinkler Head as low as possible such that the spray cuts a plane about chest high for the dogs in the kennels. A water spray correction in the face will stop the barking of any dog, even water loving Labrador Retrievers. You may want to slightly tilt the Impulse Sprinkler Heads forward. If you can, experiment with the locations of the Impulse Sprinkler Heads to find the best locations to get the best coverage for your kennels.

Next - Step 2: Determine the length of pipe needed to reach your water supply.
