Legal Reverse
Engineering of PCB's is one of our specialties. We can handle
complex multi-layer cards with our computerized net list generator and
scanning process.
We can usually create schematics , new layouts,
artwork, and improvements to old, obsolete designs. New chips can be
substituted and new features added. This includes fine-pitch, double
sided, multilayer PCB's.
Pictured at the left is a complex telecom test
circuit. Due to the deregulation of the telephone industry, our
client had a pressing need to reverse engineer a number of such
cards. This project example required
reverse engineering of software, 17 different IC chips, and four systems
that had to meet strict power, size, and temperature
ratings.

wiring diagrams.
Complete hard copy bill of materials (BOM) with
individual data sheets on each component.

Our clients for these services range from the Video Game Industry and
repair depots on up to the US Department of Defense in some projects
we aren't allowed to talk about, and some we can, such as certain missile
test equipment. For example, we redesigned obsolete 5-1/5
digital voltmeters for the Minuteman program, and replaced complex
Frequency Response Analyzers for the USAF Peacekeeper program with
completely compatible modern equipment.
Legal restrictions may apply because of software,
and we will not violate copyright or patents. Our process does
not make a copy of a PCB as defined by U.S. Copyright law. It
produces 100% functionally identical cards, wich components located at the
original location with different netlist routings. Please be
wary of firms that copy the outer layers of two-sided cards and convert
them to Gerber files. You could very easily get sued for
$100,000.00, plus actual damages and legal costs.

increasingly more expensive.
